My profile and about lesson.

Dear visitors,

Thank you for visiting HP of Nagemeno-Kai. There are many different things that would be identified as “Japanese culture”. If you are interested in traditional Japanese culture and especially Koto and Shamisen music, then you have reached at the right place to start! Some basic information is set out below. If you would like to have more information or take a trial lesson, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Master in Music (Yamada-ryu))
Currently studying at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy in Musicology))
“Education of music” is what I am interested in most. Over the last 20 years, I have been teaching Koto at Shinobugaoka High School in Tokyo.

To whom lessons are offered?: Anyone who is over age of 7 and can speak and read (especially numbers in Kanji) basic Japanese.

Venue: Walking distance from JR Shibuya station.

Lessons: All lessons will be for 60 minutes, one-on-one and seated on a chair. You can take lessons up to four times per month.

Lesson fees:
Age up to 15 years old JPY10,000 per mounth(4times×60minutes)
Age 16 years old and above JPY15,000 per mounth(4times×60minutes)


Instruments: We have Koto and/or Shamisen ready for lessons. For Koto, you will need to make you own Tsume and we will provide the necessary information/assistance to have them ready for you.

Request for performance: If you would like to have Koto/Shamisen music for receptions or any special occasions, please contact us.
